Wise Heart Herbal Homeschool Enrichment Program

A Hands-On, Nature-Based Learning Experience

Rooted in wonder, connection, and hands-on discovery, the Wise Heart Herbal Homeschool Enrichment Program invites children ages 6–15 to deepen their relationship with nature through foraging, herbal medicine-making, storytelling, movement, and creative exploration.

Meeting every fourth Monday and/or Thursday from 12:00-3:00pm at rotating outdoor locations in Stockton, NJ, Lambertville, NJ, and New Hope, PA, this immersive program nurtures a lifelong bond with the natural world. Children will learn, play, create, and celebrate as they explore the healing gifts of plants and the wisdom of the seasons.

What We Explore

The Language of Plants – Learn to identify, harvest, and honor over 25 local edible and medicinal plants, while recognizing unsafe foraging environments and poisonous species.
Nature Journaling & Materia Medica – Build a personal botanical guide, documenting plant allies through drawings, notes, and observations.
Seasonal Celebrations – Experience the Wheel of the Year through hands-on activities, crafts, and games that honor the solstices, equinoxes, and cross-quarter days.
Herbal Medicine-Making – Create teas, tinctures, infused oils, vinegars, balms, and salves using locally foraged plants.
Sensory Exploration – Engage all six senses to cultivate deeper intuition and awareness of the plant kingdom.
Community & Leadership – Older children become mentors, while younger ones rise to meet the challenge, fostering confidence, collaboration, and belonging.

Our Wise Heart Herbal Enrichment Program is designed to offer families a rich and connected learning experience throughout the seasons. Below you’ll find current pricing options for 2025:

Perfect for families who want to attend occasionally without committing to the full season.

  • $35 per child
  • $25 per additional sibling

✨ Seasonal Enrollment (March–November | 9 Classes Total)

For families who wish to attend regularly and build a deeper relationship with the plants, land, and each other.

  • $270 per child ($30 per class)
  • $180 per additional sibling ($20 per class)

Preparing for Winter Rest
24 November 2025, 12-3pm

Wild Roots

Stockton, NJ

As the season turns inward, we’ll honor the transition from seed to root. We’ll harvest Japanese knotweed and other local roots, explore the grounding medicine held beneath the soil, and craft root talismans for protection and connection. Through playful games, hands-on harvesting, and the making of deep crock-pot teas with roots and barks, we’ll nourish our bodies and spirits as we prepare for winter’s quiet embrace.


Spring Awakening.
March 2026, 12-3pm

Fresh Medicine

Stockton, NJ

Welcoming the Spring Equinox and the return of the sun’s warmth! We’ll introduce the wheel of the year, begin our Materia Medica with nature journaling, and explore the early gifts of spring greens. Through hands-on activities, children will discover how fresh medicine nourishes and detoxifies the body. This class engages the sense of sight and sparks curiosity about the healing power of plants.


Sip into Spring.
April 2026, 12-3pm

Herbal Tea

New Hope, PA

Through the interplay of fire and water, we’ll explore the art of balancing temperature and moisture in herbal medicine. Tea making, sensory herbal tasting, and spring foraging will reveal how hot, cold, wet and dry qualities shape healing. We’ll honor springs’s renewal with wildcrafted water color continuing to build our Materia Medica.


Flowering First Aid.
May 2026, 12-3pm

Flower Essence

Stockton, NJ

Explore the healing power of leaves and flowers through first aid remedies for stings, rashes, wounds and bruises. Learn to work with nettles for both it’s nutritive gifts and embrace its sting. As we transition towards summer, we’ll also study wild rose and the medicine of emerging blooms.


Solstice Sense
June 2026, 12-3pm

Summer Solstice

Stockton, NJ

In our June class, we’ll explore how plants use scent as a language, tuning our senses to the messages carried on the summer breeze. Children will begin crafting their own herbal first aid kits with simple remedies for bites, scrapes, and sun-filled adventures. We’ll also mark the summer solstice with joyful games, nature play, and reflections on the longest day of the year.


Wild Waters.
July 2026, 12-3pm

Healing Waters

New Hope, PA

Flow with the transition of water to earth in this cross-quarter celebration. We’ll explore the magic of mint, practice safe wild water foraging, and learn the art of tincture making. Deepen your plant connection by tuning into the sense of hearing, listening to natures wisdom of the plants.


Dreaming the Plants
August 2026, 12-3pm

Mugwort

Lambertville, NJ

Step into the world of plant dreaming, with mugwort as our guide. We’ll craft dream pillows and herbal wand bundles while exploring the art of deep connection through offerings and meditation. Learn to awaken your intuition and engage with plants with our sixth heart sense.


Oil and Herb – Golden Harvest
September 2026, 12-3pm

Stockton, NJ

Celebrate the autumn equinox and the grounding energy of earth. We’ll honor the season’s abundance by working with goldenrod crafting healing balms to carry us into the cooler months. With fruit and seeds as our focus, we’ll embrace the richness of the harvest and the turning of the wheel.

Vinegar

New Hope, PA

As the seasons shift, we’ll honor the transition from earth to air by working with fruits and seeds. Through seed collecting and spreading, we’ll give back to the land. We’ll also explore medicine-making with herbal infused vinegar, crafting fire cider to carry us into the colder months.
